In addition to writing for my blog as well as future book projects, I’m also available speak. I would love the opportunity to speak at church services, events, retreats, or other organizations not directly related to the church.
As a former entrepreneur and senior pastor I am available to speak on a variety of subjects. I have extensive experience in starting and running a business and what it takes to harness the entrepreneurial mindset. My bachelor degree is in business and I have both a Master of Divinity degree and an MBA. In addition, I went on to receive a doctorate in strategic leadership from Regent Universities’ school of entrepreneurship and global leadership. So my education and experience is pretty well-rounded. So, if you have a need any of these areas, please feel free to shoot me an email – firstname.lastname@example.org.
My areas of passion
Like most pastors who have been in ministry for a more extended length of time I’ve taught on a wide variety of subjects. The following subjects are some that I am especially passionate about:
Books of the Bible (these are a few exegetical series I especially enjoyed)
- Emotional intelligence
Over the years I have become consumed with understanding God’s grace. It is a journey and I have been on that I believe will continue for the rest of my life and on into eternity. Put me in front of a group of people and give me a chance to speak and I will speak on grace. Whether it’s just for a few minutes or 10-week series, I just can’t get enough. And as I watch people interact with others I am convinced that if we just began to understand God’s amazing grace that our minds would be blown in our lives would be transformed.
Karen and I have put together a marriage conference we call “The Prevailing Marriage Conference,” and we have written a book by the same name. You can read more about the details of conference here. It is my opinion that marriage is meant to be enjoyed not endured. It is my opinion that it is possible to be more passionately in love every year of your life than you were the year before. It is my experience that while this is possible it is excruciatingly difficult… But completely and totally worth it!
I have always been fascinated by leadership. Maybe it was because I grew up in the home of a corporate CEO or maybe it was developed by one of my mentors growing up, or maybe it was developed through all the Westerns I read as a kid. Regardless, leadership is one of my passions. I believe we have a shortage of good leaders. Compounding the problem, we have had way too many examples of bad leadership.
I have developed several leadership talks that I have given in churches and Christian organizations. And I’ve had the opportunity to give those same talks at the corporate and organizational level just without the spiritual overtones. In either setting I am available to speak on the subject of leadership, leadership development, organizational structure, organizational culture, and leadership among millennials.
It seems that now more than ever, there is a need for emotional intelligence in pastoral and organizational leadership. Emotional intelligence refers to a person’s abilities to perceive, identify, understand, and successfully manage their emotions as well as in others. The greater a person’s position of influence, the more emotional intelligence matters — it is crucial for successful leadership. Daniel Goleman claims that it is the essential ingredient for reaching and staying at the top in any field.
To get more information about my training in emotional intelligence and leadership development please visit my website www.leadershiptransformation.net. I started the company Leadership Transformation, Inc. to facilitate training and consulting in the area of emotional intelligence and leadership at the corporate and organizational level. Of course all of these services are available to the church as well.
In addition to my doctorate in strategic leadership, I am also certified by Multi Health Systems, Inc. to conduct the EQ-I 2.0 emotional intelligence course and assessment. You can read much more about this course at Leadership Transformation.
It is my great honor to have the privilege to travel around the world speaking at Global Advance pastor’s conferences. Each year Global Advance hosts and sponsors pastor’s conferences, roundtables and other training initiatives for indigenous pastors around the world. Over 90% of pastors in developing nations will never have the chance to attend seminary or formal Bible training. Many are in desperate need of encouragement. Global Advance training events are catalysts for church planting, discipleship and indigenous transformational efforts. Global Advance provides national pastors and church leaders with a vision in their hearts and tools in their hands for the advance of the Gospel worldwide.
